Hangin’ Out

Keeper of the land,
A shame to think we’ll never know
the riches you have planned.

Strange, isn’t it, how we cherish pollinators and bees, specifically, while enjoying the spoils of their constant and brutal labor, but when they take up residence in our homes or sting to protect what is sacred to them, we dismiss them as little more than pests? As bee populations worldwide continue to decline, we can’t help but wonder if our full-time appreciation for these, the First Gardeners, will only manifest when our market shelves are empty.
